Let’s play golf now that the season is open.  Bergen County Golf opened it’s 6 golf courses and programs on March 26th.  However the weather hasn’t cooperated with very few good weather days as a result. Golf in Bergen County Golf in Bergen County is a very big deal.  While there are several private golf clubs, let’s talk about our terrific public golf courses. The Emerson Golf Club Is Going Public

The Emerson Golf Club is going public this spring because Bergen County just bought it.  This is a fabulous purchase for Bergen County’s golf program. Bergen County Freeholders approved the purchase on October 18th with a unanimous vote.  They allowed the Bergen County Improvement Authority to float notes for the $8.5 million purchase.  I believe the actual closing is this month. The Bergen County golf season is underway at last.  It starts normally some time between mid March to mid April here but late last week we had a surprise.
