From a Baha’i Temple to Orthodox and Reformed Synagogues to Catholic, Protestant and Syrian Churches to Muslim Mosques to a “non religious” spiritual Cultural Center, Teaneck embraces all cultures and religions with a passion. People here enjoy each other’s diversity – it really is a cool place to live.
Despite its large size, Teaneck has retained its small town suburban feeling. There are so many towering, gorgeous trees down it’s streets that driving somewhere else will make you think they’ve forgotten to landscape. The mature foliage in this town is nothing short of amazing. The township has a warm and quaint feel to its many neighborhoods.
Local shopping answers the need of this large place – there are 4 major shopping areas but busy Cedar Lane is the main district. You’ll find all sorts of small businesses, a movie theater and delicious restaurants of varied cuisines. Some places here are Bergen County institutions owned and operated by multiple generations.
One of the reasons people buy a Teaneck home is the commute to Manhattan. Getting to New York City from Teaneck is a breeze. New Jersey Transit and Coach USA express buses get you across the George Washington Bridge or to the Port Authority Bus Terminal often in less than 40 minutes. It is one of the best commutes Bergen County has to offer.
Speaking of buying a home, if you love Tudor Colonials, Dutch Colonials or Classic Colonials you’ll find them here by the bucket load. A large portion of Teaneck homes were constructed in the early to mid 20th century and that means colonial style houses. Later on came the Cape Cod homes and the Split Level houses but Teaneck is renowned for its gracious Tudor and Dutch Colonial homes.
Town services are great too. Did you know that at one time this was the only town in Bergen County where senior citizens received a call every morning to make sure they were OK? Tons of parks, playgrounds, activities for all ages, a superb library and more are all here for you.
Teaneck homes are always in demand because of everything this town has to offer. Simply put – this is a wonderful place to live.
