Bergen County This Weekend
Bergen County this weekend has 5 big events for you. In addition to what we have going on, don’t forget about our local live theater. Black Box has the adult themed play “Guilty Pleasures” and Bergen County Players has the musical comedy “It Shoulda Been You”. Seats are still available for both.
There’s a lot to enjoy in Bergen County this weekend when you add in our County Parks and Golf Courses too. Here are our 4 weekend events:
Ridgewood Sidewalk Sale
The Ridgewood Sidewalk Sale is having it’s Spring Sale Days this week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 to 6 daily. Ridgewood’s Spring Sidewalk Sale Days is sponsored and promoted by the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce.
Ridgewood has the largest local town business district in Bergen County. There are all sorts of shops from upscale chain stores to generational family owned businesses. Additionally, you’ll find some of Bergen County’s finest restaurants. Thousands of shoppers flock to their sidewalk sales because there are amazing bargains to be had.
Englewood Car Show
Come to the Englewood Car Show this Sunday at 8 Depot Square 11-5 and see over 100 gorgeous, exotic cars on display. There will be all sorts of activities because this is geared for all age groups. You’ll see everything from bouncy houses to DJ’s as a result. In addition, there will be a variety of vendors and some food trucks too.
This car show has been growing every year. Because some of the most beautiful exotic cars are on display, people come by the thousands. On a personal level, I love Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s because I consider them works of art. So come on out and see some amazing, gorgeous cars.
Pinkster at New Bridge Landing
Pinkster is an annual spring celebration at Historic New Bridge Landing. This is the 24th year Pinkster is being held and since it’s a very popular event, hundreds of people come. Itr’s an all day celebration held Sunday from 1 to 4:30. You’ll see everything including broom making, blacksmithing, colonial baking and educational lectures.
In addition all the houses will be open and there’s plenty for children to do too. There’s even a scavenger hunt for them. Add in musical performances and educational talks as well as refreshments and music by fiddlers and dulcimer players. This is so much fun that people come back year after year.
Tickets are $12.50 adults, $7.50 students (6-21) and members are free. Get your tickets online at the bottom of the page.
Every Day is Earth Day
Every Day is Earth Day is all about the enviroment, wildlife and nature. It’s held this Saturday 10 to 3 at 24 Industrial Ave in Ridgefield Park (R P. Public Works). This is a special project of the Ridgefield Park Environmental Commission and they have a lot going on for you every minute.
Since this is to educate you about the environment and nature, there’s a lot going on. You can choose from a variety of shows all day long which include learning about raptors, snakes and bats. There are cruises down the Hackensack River and catch & release fishing too. Because this is a fun event, there’s music, face painting and other entertainments.
While a free event, they ask you to register so they’re prepared for everyone. Just click on this link to register.
Sahara Club Car Show
The Sahara Club is having it’s 5th annual Sahara Club Car Show and BBQ this Sunday from 9 to 3. Location is at 24 River Road in Bogota. Since it begins at 9 am, they are serving breakfast too as well as bbq later on. You can buy breakfast, hang out all day and buy lunch too.
Because so many people love car shows, there will be hundreds coming. This car show will also have a good number of motorcycles on display too. This must be a pretty big show because they’re giving out 50 trophie.
Bergen County This Weekend +
There is something else I need to mention because it’s such a major event. While it’s not in Bergen County, it’s really next door and so many of us visit there. Nyack, NY, is just above our northern border in Rockland County. This Sunday is the very famous Nyack Street Fair. This is very possibly the biggest street fair you will ever see.
There are over 300 craft and art exhibitors, an amazing assortment of vendors and anything else you can imagine being there. This all day street fair runs from 10 to 5 on Sunday. Just over the border, Nyack is always a popular destination for us. Have fun in Bergen County this weekend and take a trip north to Nyack too!
