This week there are several major events so let’s get right to it:

Andiamo Motorcycle Charity Run Andiamo Run

The Andiamo Run is this Sunday and so far it’s bigger than ever.  Begun in 1999, this is it’s 21st year of raising funds for charity.  The motorcyclists have a full police escort and leave Andiamo’s Restaurant (21 Hardenburgh Ave in Haworth) at 10:20 am.  Sign up is onsite at 8 since it’s now too late for pre-registration.

Not only do they go on a long ride for charity, they party all afternoon afterwards.  Everyone is welcome and it’s only $10 each to go to the party.  This is an amazing group of people who raise a large amount every year for multiple local charities.  The main sponsor is, of course, Harley Davidson.  If you’ve never seen this, come on Sunday.  It’s a wonderful group of people and you’ll see the most gorgeous motorcycles ever.

Bergen County Fall Harvest FestivalBergen County Fall Harvest Festival at Van Saun Park.

Because it’s so popular, this has become a 3 day event.  Friday night starts you off 6-9pm with rides and food trucks but Saturday is everything.  Saturday has 4 H exhibits, animals, a craft fair and Zumba at 12-1,  In addition there’s live music 10-5 and fireworks when it gets dark to end the day.  Rides open at 10 am and close at 10 pm.  Sunday is the same except there’s no fireworks and it ends at 8 pm.

Circus VazquezCircus Vazquez

Circus Vazquez comes to us from Mexico.  It began there in 1969 and has been in the US for a very long time now.  It began performing at the Westfield Garden State Plaza last week and runs through September 26th.  This is a true high wire circus with all the trimmings. Because performers come from all around the world, this is a very unique circus.

Tickets are $40 but on their website, there’s a $10 discount if you order tickets there.  Performances are both at night and during the day.

Joey's FundJoey’s Fund

Joey’s Fund was started by Tony DeCarlo because he lost his 2 1/2 year old son to cancer.  Since they started, the Joey’s Fund Charity Car Shows have raised tens of thousands of dollars.  2022 marks the 8th Annual Charity Car Show put on by Joey’s Fund.

It happens this Sunday from 11 to 4 at Closter Plaza (19 Vervalen St) in Closter.  What I can tell you is that it’s a lot of fun and the cars are amazing.  While you’re there, have an early dinner or a slice of pizza at Rudy’s Ristorante across the way.  Rudy’s is an institution in Closter because the food is great.

Ragtime

Ragtime The Musical

Ragtime The Musical opens the season and the 90th Anniversary Year for the Bergen County Players. Because this is their 90th year, BCP is putting on an aggressive 2022/23 schedule which means loads of fun this season.

This is an ambitious project because Ragtime The Musical has 32 cast members and features numerous musical numbers.  It’s about turn of the century times featuring 3 different family groups and how they interact in a changing world.  This musical was nominated for 13 Tony awards and won several.  It opens Saturday night at 8 and has Sunday performances at 2 and 8.  It runs on weekends through October 15th.  It’s extremely reasonable because all tickets are only $29 so book yours now!

Restaurant Week in Fort Lee restaurant week

Restaurant week in Fort Lee NJ is an extremely popular event.  Starting this Sunday, it’s a major destination for going out because 40 eateries in Fort Lee are participating.  They represent a kaleidoscope of both ethnicity and cuisine styles that will keep you coming back for more.

Each restaurant will have it’s own menu for the week and daily specials.  Prices will be high value so this won’t hurt your budget.  Many have special pricing on prix fixe dinners that are a bargain compared to their regular menu.  Click on this link for all the details and the restaurant list.

craft fairRidgewood Fall Craft Street Fair

Have you ever been to Ridgewood?  You haven’t?  Then you must come out Sunday because the entire downtown becomes a walking park filled with over 200 crafters.  Plus there’s a food truck court, festival foods and a play area for children with a petting zoo and blown up activities.

Because this is a juried craft show, you can expect a high level of crafts on display and for sale.  Since this is a major craft fair, people will come from far away to not only participate as crafters but also to see the over 200 displays.  Ridgewood has terrific restaurants so you can stay and have a great early dinner in town too.  The Ridgewood Fall Craft Street Fair hours are 11 to 5 on Sunday.

Tomorrows Children’s Fund 5K Walk & Run It tomorrows children's fund

The Tomorrows Children’s Fund  is a charity that supports children battling childhood cancer.  This year marks the Tomorrows Children’s Fund 7th Annual Join Hands Race.  Weather will be great so come out and support these kids and their families.

The race is being held at Saddle Brook Park (1417 Saddle River Rd) in Saddle Brook; registration is open online through Saturday.   This is billed as a hybrid race because you can walk, run or race virtually.  Since it’s late to register, I don’t know if they’ll have a t-shirt set aside for you.
