This weekend in Bergen County is filled with all sorts of things to do. Let’s get to it right away!
Autographfest at the American Dream Mall
Autographfest is a major autograph show at the American Dream Mall they say will have over 300 dealers. Sports stars from boxing to wrestling will be there to sign autographs and meet the public.
This show is so big that they have dealer tables and celebrity athlete settings over 3 levels of the American Dream Mall. It runs for 3 days from Thursday through Saturday. The mall is open 11-9 Thursday and 11-10 Friday and Saturday.
EarthFest Overpeck
EarthFest Overpeck is a spectacular all day event on Sunday devoted to our environment at Overpeck County Park (45 Fort Lee Road, Teaneck). It’s especially noteworthy this year because of all the anniversaries. 2022 is EarthFest’s 25th, Bergen County Parks 75th and the Clean Water Act’s 50th. Earthfest Overpeck is put on by the Hackensack River Keeper and the Bergen County Parks Department. This is the largest Bergen County earth fair.
Because it’s our major earth fair, it literally takes over the entire area of Overpeck Park. There’s music, food trucks, free boating, educational activities for children, non-profit vendors as well as green vendors, animal displays and more. It runs from 12 noon through 5 pm. I’d get there early to make sure you have a parking spot. For more information, go to their Facebook page or their website.
A Comedy by Steve Martin
The Underpants is a very funny comedy written by Steve Martin, the comedian. Most people don’t know that Steve Martin is a playwright because they only know him as one of our most beloved comics. While he’s a fabulous comedian, he’s also writes plays. We have his “The Underpants” this weekend by the Bergen County Players in Oradell.
The Underpants opens Saturday night at 8 pm and runs this weekend and next. Performances are Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 1 pm. This is such a bargain since tickets are only $14. Order yours online before they’re gone!
Garden State Plaza Happenings
Food Truck and Music Festival
It seems that Bergen County loves food trucks because we have so many food truck events. Here’s another one on Sunday that’s also a Music Festival. Because it is, you have live music to listen and dance to.
Tickets are ordered online and it runs from 11 to 7. Location is Nordstrom’s parking lot and so far they have at least 14 food trucks. This is really going to be a lot of fun with activities for all ages.
Frozen
Frozen is another in the Broadway at the Garden State Plaza series. This is a series of live performances highlighting top Broadway shows.
Frozen is one of Disney’s most popular movies in the recent past. Disney released it in 2013 as a movie and 4 years later as a highly successful musical. It’s this week’s special presentation on Saturday at 11 and 1. You get all the information you need and tickets on their website.

Do you like yard sales? Does curiosity get the best of you while driving by one? Are you someone who loves a bargain? You are? Then come to St Anthony Orthodox Church in Bergenfield this Thursday through Saturday for their indoor yard sale.
The entire Church finished basement is going to be one huge yard sale to pour over. This is great because it’s supposed to rain on Friday and Saturday. As a result, everything else will be rained out. This is one yard sale that won’t be rained out. Location is 385 Ivy Lane (near the Englewood border). Times are 10-4 Thursday and Friday. Saturday is 10-2.
Ridgewood May Sale Days
Ridgewood NJ has the most extensive shopping district of all 70 Bergen County locations. In addition to stores, there are tons of truly outstanding restaurants in all price ranges offering a wide variety of cuisines. As a result, Ridgewood is a magnet for shoppers and a prime location for going out to dinner. There’s also a movie theater. As a result, there is nothing missing here.

2022 saw live concerts brought back by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition their young artist competition winners are able to be honored too. This weekend is honoring the 2019 and 2021 competition winners with a concert of their own.
This is the Young Artist Concert Saturday night at 8 pm in the Syriac Community Hall (55 W Midland Ave, Paramus). You are going to hear magnificent performances of glorious classical music by Haydn and Mozart. Go to the Bergen Philharmonic website for tickets and more information. Gordon Turk
Gordon Turk is one of the world’s most renown organ players in the world. He has toured not only around the world but also through the US. He’s played in some of our most prestigious concert halls including Carnegie Hall in Manhattan and the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.
Mr. Turk is well known as the resident organist at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove NJ where he plays on it’s 12,000 pipe organ. People come from all around to hear him because what he does is spectacular.
He is giving a free concert this Sunday at 3 pm for 1 hour at the West Side Presbyterian Church (6 S Monroe St). Admission is free while donations are appreciated.
5K Runs
Runners are on top of the different runs out there so I won’t go into too much detail. I think it’s always important to support these athletes because runners support worthy causes. Since they do, a lot of money is raised. There are 2 runs this weekend and both are 5K. One is in Ramsey and one is in Waldwick.
