August is ending with barely 1 week left. Because this is a more quiet time of year, there are fewer events scheduled. However we still have all those ongoing outdoor concerts and plays. Additionally there’s our wonderful County Parks with everything from golf to horseback riding.
While this may be the quietest part of the summer, there are 3 terrific events coming up this weekend. They are:
- Beer & Food Truck Festival
- Crafts & Antiques Fair + Appraisals
- Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Beer and Food Truck Festival
Come over to Franklin Lakes this Saturday, August 28th, for their Eats n Beats beer and food truck festival. From 3:30 throgh 9:30 pm there will be beer, hard selzer, food trucks and live music from 5 different bands.
They’re also doing a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Franklin Lakes Parks and Recreation Foundation. The FLPRF helps fund different events in town and sports programs.
Location is Veterans Plaza (Pulis & Franklin Ave). Parking is at: DeKorte Dr, behind the Police Station and in front of Borough Hall. Handicap spots are at the Ambulance Corps.
Crafts and Antiques Fair
Westwood is hosting another blowout crafts and antiques fair this Sunday, August 29th, 10 to 5pm. Its their 2021 Fall Crafts and Antiques in the Park Show. Location is at Veterans Memorial Park (3rd Ave & Broadway).
The 2021 Fall Crafts and Antques in the Park Show has vendors, music and food. There will be over 95 vendors with everything you can imagine including antiques, art and crafts. There’s also a fabulous opportunity to get an appraisal.
Do you know how much it costs to get an appraisal? I don’t. But, I’m sure it’s more than a few dollars. You have an amazing opportunity for this at the 2021 Fall Crafts and Antiques at the Park Show.
John Felz from RZM Antiques will be doing appraisals for only $3 from 11 to 4. Can you imagine this? Only $3 to get something appraised? If you’ve always wondered what that pot you inherited is worth, come on over and get a professional opinion on it’s value Sunday.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Enjoy a unique experience at The Hermitage Saturday afternoon (August 28th) from 2-4 pm with Shakespeare. You will actually follow the actors along in A Midsummer Night’s Dream as they take you through The Hermitage’s 5 acre grounds. This is more than your usual live theater experience!
Tickets are only $20 per person and are sold online. This production is being put on by the First Flight Theater Company as a benefit for The Hermitage. The Hermitage is located at 335 N Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus.
August Is Ending
While August is ending and it’s the quietest part of the summer, we still have fun things to do this weekend. If you haven’t taken time off yet, please do so before summer ends. We’re less than 2 weeks from Labor Day Weekend. So go out this weekend and enjoy what Bergen County has to offer you!
