summer events this weekSummer events this week takes us both in and out of Bergen County.  We still lhave a lot of local events going on but we are winding down.  Because we’re now in the last half of August, summer’s end is in sight and a lot of us are away.

While this is certainly true, there’s also 1 major event each week plus ongoing concerts, outdoor plays and drive in movies.  Let’s take a look at what we have in summer events this week:

Nyack Street Fair

Nyack, NY, is immediately north of Bergen County.  It’s a very popular destination for Bergen County residents since it’s on the Hudson River just over the border.  Nyack is filled with great restaurants and boutique stores.  You’ll find their amazing business district along Main Street and South Broadway.  Filled  with stores selling everything you’d expect plus antiques (including warehouse levels of antique furniture), crafts, jewelry, clothing and more.  Its street fairs are famous and we have one coming up this Sunday.

The Nyack Famous Street Fair is this Sunday, August 22nd, 10-5.  They have around 300 exhibitors and vendors selling their arts and crafts, collectibles, clothing, etc  Additionally Nyack’s restaurants and outdoor cafes are joining in in with with dining specials for the day.  The Nyack Street Fair is so big that you should plan on spending the day.

Tenafly Nature Center

tenafly nature centerI’m sure you’ve noticed that I feature the Tenafly Nature Center often.  This is because it’s such a fabulous resource.  Classes and experiences are held year round for everyone from Pre K children through adults.  This week they have sessions for children as well as adults.

On their calendar of events you’ll see a series of outstanding programs.  This Saturday at 10 am there’s a Story Time for children ages 3-7.  In addition to reading a story, the kids will get to meet one of their Animal Ambassadors.  The Tenafly Nature Center is truly a gift to all of us.

Adults have a full moon walk Saturday night.  This is a great experience – there’s no other opportunity to do this in Bergen County or nearby so register for this now.  It does get booked up.

Summer Events This Week

So there you have it.  Summer events this week has a lot going on.  The Nyack Street Fair is really the beginning of a series of fairs that runs throughout the fall season.  No matter the time of year, however, there’s always something going on in Bergen County.  It’s a lot of fun showing people I’ve sold a house to all Bergen County has to offer.  I hope you are having fun with these articles too.
