This week it’s the 3rd Annual Sahara Club Car Show and crafts at the Hermitage. While these are the only new events this week, both are very special and a lot of fun.
Don’t forget all the ongoing local events I wrote about in early July and the Black Box Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park. Contact a nature center to see what’s happening and a local library as well. For example, Englewood’s library has jazz concerts. Let’s discuss our 2 new events this week now:
Crafts at The Hermitage
Saturday it’s The Hermitage in Ho Ho Kus for a major crafts show. Over 70 highly skilled and award winning crafts professionals as well as artists will have their wares on display and for sale. I’m not sure if this will be a juried crafts show but I bet it is.
They have food and dessert available for purchase too. This outdoor show is taking place August 14th from 10 to 5 on the Hermitage front lawn. While you’re there, why not take a tour of this 19th century landmark? The Hermitage is located at 335 North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus.
Sahara Club Car Show and BBQ
Sunday is where you’ll find the Sahara Club Car Show and BBQ at 24 River Road in Bogota. This show opens at 9 am and because it’s a competition, awards are given out at 3 pm.
This looks to be a really good show with hot rods, classic cars and even motorcycles. You can purchase food they’re barbecuing plus there will be drinks available to purchase too.
I took my son to a ton of car shows like the Sahara Club Car Show when he was young. It was fun and we got to meet a lot of really nice people. It’s also very interesting to see how people customize their hot rods and restore classic cars.
The Rest of the Month
August is the month when most people are gone. Since it ends with Labor Day Weekend, this is really the last time people can get away for a summer vacation. As a result, there aren’t a lot of events for the rest of the month. This changes one we move further into September. I’ll do my best to find at least 2 new options for you every week.
I hope you enjoy reading these weekly articles. I love introducing people to Bergen County. As a real estate agent, it’s a big part of what I do for people. Hopefully I’ve been able to introduce you to how much fun there is in Bergen County so far this year. There’s a lot more to enjoy in the future too.
