If you’re a parent with school aged children this can be quite challenging. Because you don’t know what’s happening until early in the morning, It adds an extra layer of stress to your very busy life. You have to wait to hear from the school.
Schools do this through blast phone calls, email or text. Sometimes it’s a combination of these. No matter how your school does it, now is the time to make sure they have your contact information.
Many people work from home but a lot don’t. Most of us go out of the house to work every day. No one is home if school closes due to snow most of the time. As a result, parents need contingency plans for school snow days. Now is the time to take care of this too. Waiting to do this is a huge mistake because you may not have any options last minute. As a result, you may have to use up a vacation day if school closes.
Be prepared. Get your ducks in order now so you won’t be stuck tomorrow.
