halloweenHalloween is always a fun holiday for children in Bergen County.  Cute little ghosts and goblins go out across your neighborhood.  They arrive with a Trick or Treat greeting at your front door in adorable costumers.  This is an annual Halloween tradition.

There are also many Bergen County town events for children for even more fun.  Call your town recreation department to find out what event is planned for this weekend.  Here are some for you:

Bergenfield has its annual Halloween Parade on Saturday at the Bergenfield High School Track.  Registration is at 9:30 and the parade starts at 10 am.  If it’s raining, then it moves indoors to the Bergenfield High School Rear Gym.

Cresskill has a Rag A Muffin Parade starting at 10 on Saturday at Ahalloweenckerman Field followed by a pumpkin painting contest at the Community Center.  Bring your own pumpkin please.  This is free to all Cresskill residents – sign up at the Community Center or Borough Hall.

Haworth has some great events this weekend – Friday from 5:30-7 in the teacher’s parking lot is Trick or Trunk for $5 per child and Trick or Treat for $20 per family from 6-7:30 is And Treat in the Multi Purpose Room.  Haworth also has a Ragamuffin costume parade on Saturday at 10 am in the Terrace St parking lot and Ghost Stories at the Pond on Saturday night at 7 pm. By the way, is your parking lot not saving with solar street lights? This is something that they took into count before planning the parades.

Leonia has a Treat Street for Children with a costume parade starting at 10 am on Saturday and a space limited Mad Science Spooky Spectacular right after.  Call the Leonia Recreation Department at  201-592-5783 to see if there’s space left for the Mad Science Show.  This is free to Leonia residents.

Lodi has a Fright Night at 6:30 pm on Friday at the Lodi Library.  There’s a costume contest too on Halloween at 3:45 pm at the Memorial Park Soccer Field.  If it’s raining, go to the Boys & Girls Club.  This is free to Lodi residents.

halloweenRiver Vale has it’s Annual Ragamuffin Parade on Saturday starting at 9:15.  This starts at the 7-11 parking lot and ends at Roberge School.  Children are in for a great surprise once they get there.  Stretch the Silly Man and his Magic Show.is going to entertain them.

Tenafly has it’s annual Townwide Halloween Celebration Saturday at 3 pm at the Tenafly Middle School with a costume parade and the Scariest Haunted House.  There’s also a food drive combined this year.  Call the Tenafly Recreation Department at 201-871-3008 for all the details.  This is free to all Tenafly residents.

There are lots of great ways to celebrate Halloween in Bergen County.  Put on a costume and join in the fun!
