When you think of St Patrick’s Day you think of the St Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City, leprechauns, shamrocks and Pots of Gold.  This is the day when the world turns green and people get together for St Patty’s Day parties.  St Patrick’s Day is for children too in Bergen County.

There is a unique opportunity for young children to have fun at the New Jersey Children’s Museum in Paramus.  The museum put together a terrific special program for the younger set this St Patrick’s Day Weekend.  This program runs on both Saturday and Sunday.  Children search for hidden pots of gold, make their own leprechaun hat and win prizes.  Just Click Here for all the information you’ll need.

Older children have something special too.  Take them to see Irish Folk Dancers on Saturday in Upper Saddle River at the Saddle River Valley Cultural Center  Just scroll down the page to the Irish Folk Dancers happening this Saturday at 3 pm.  This dance troupe is made up of young girls who will perform and then teach children how to do some dance steps after they perform.

Everyone enjoys the annual Bergen County St Patrick’s Day Parade in Bergenfield.  Children love this parade.  They have so much fun because they can see everything up close.  This is because the parade goes down Washington Street which is not very wide.  As a result, they are really on top of what’s happening.  They see Irish dancers, leprechauns, bag pipes, brass bands, mounted police, vintage cars and more.

St Patrick’s Day is a family affair as much as it’s a celebration of everything Irish.   As a result, there’s a lot happening for children this St Patrick’s Day Weekend.  There’s a lot happening for adults here too.  So come on over to Bergen County where you’re bound to have a lot of fun.
